We love baseball
because sometimes it's painful. There is nothing like holding a sizable lead
most of the game and getting relaxed, maybe even turning off the game, only to
see one fielding miscue threaten to take it all away from you. Which brings
about an interesting question. Had I been watching the Angels beat the Orioles
last night, at the conclusion of the game would I have been happy, relieved or
too busy wrapping my bleeding hand to care?
Something really, really strange happened to me. The Angels aren't just good, they are the class of baseball. Watching the team three hit by an ageless Mike Mussina didn't upset me in the slightest.
