After Florida handled Oklahoma in the BCS national title game, Chris finished with 21 correct to officially become the man. I had 19, Ben had 18 and Mike had 13.
Now, as far as the actual championship game is concerned, here are some thoughts.
I didn't feel like I was watching the two best teams in college football. All I could think the entire time is I wish I was watching USC play Utah.
I didn't feel like the first half was low-scoring because each defense played fantastic. I feel like it was because both teams didn't play well. Florida is clearly one of the four best teams in college football, no possible argument can dispute that.
I actually have no argument against Florida, but I could see an argument for them as well as Texas, Utah and USC. The Gators made plays in the second half when it mattered and Tim Tebow really stepped up. They were the better team, and deserved to win the game.
Oklahoma, on the other hand, didn't belong and has a serious problem in BCS games. Maybe Texas wouldn't have fared any better, but we'll never know.
With that said, here is our final poll. As you can see, we respect the fact that Florida won the BCS title game and the Gators are a unanimous No. 1.
Utah shoots up to No. 2 and USC is No. 3. Texas comes in at No. 4, one spot ahead of a two-loss Oklahoma team which the Horns beat.
Alabama slides just one spot, to No. 6 and Penn State does not drop. TCU, Oregon and Boise State round out the top ten.
Iowa jumps to No. 14, Mississippi jumps all the way to No. 15 after beating Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl and Virginia Tech moves to No. 20 after an Orange Bowl win. California moves up to No. 22 to end the year.
